WHO Pakistan supports EPI Pakistan

Islamabad, 29 September 2021 (TDI): WHO Representative Pakistan, Dr. Palitha Mahipala participated in a groundbreaking ceremony to build a Dry Store at EPI Pakistan – Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) in Pakistan with NPM EPI Dr. Akram Shah.

Dr. Akram Shah appreciated the tremendous support given by WHO. Further, he added that this support would go a long way in providing extra space for medical supplies storage. This will help to boost the health system in Pakistan.

This Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Dry Store event was held at the Federal EPI, Islamabad on 24th September 2021 to enhance the Vaccine Storage Capacity. During this event, Dr. Muhamad Akram Shah, NPM-EPI, and Dr. Palitha Mahipala, WR was present with other connected members and they jointly inaugurated the ceremony.

As vaccine immunization is necessary for every child, EPI Pakistan works on Immunizations and their program protects against 12 vaccine-preventable diseases. They promote immunization in children and also encourage parents to get their children vaccinated through different programs. They work on vaccine-preventable diseases such as Microbe and immunize Syringe children around the age of 15 months.
