Canberra, 7 July 2023(TDI): Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the Commonwealth of Australia, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri met with the Governor of Western Australia, the Honourable Chris Dawson AC APM. The meeting was held at Government House Western Australia.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the development relations between Pakistan and Western Australia, as they focused on enhancing collaboration in various fields like trade, education and sports.

Governor Dawson expressed his pride in Western Australia’s rising Pakistani diaspora. He reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to further assisting by recognizing the Pakistani population’s contribution to the local economy and cultural diversity.

Areas of Mutual Cooperation

Governor Dawson highlighted Western Australia’s enormous resources, particularly in the mining and energy sectors. This offers profitable prospects for Pakistani investors and enterprises.

Both parties agreed to look into opportunities for mutual cooperation, with a special emphasis on trade and investment promotion.

Governor underscored his desire to enhance cricket connections between the two nations. Both parties agreed to explore opportunities that further strengthen the cricketing bond between both states.

Encountering a Pakistani Australian

During the meeting with the Governor, High Commissioner Zahid Hafeez also met with the Pakistani Australian, Muhammad Usman Saeed. He had made a significant contribution to the Governor House.

Zahid Hafeez expressed great pleasure in meeting with Usman Saeed and appreciated his valuable presence as a structure to Australia’s multicultural success.
