Hanoi, 10 November 2021 (TDI): Vietnam’s Foreign Minister, Bui Thanh Son addressed the 32nd APEC Ministerial Meeting, today in Hanoi. The Ministers discussed promoting economic and technical cooperation between the Member States.

In a Tweet, Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son stated that he was satisfied to have fruitful exchanges with APEC colleagues.

Further, this will enhance a robust, sustainable, and inclusive post-pandemic recovery.

Attending Virtual Meeting

Earlier, Vietnam wished to attend the APEC meeting which will be held on 11-12 November starting from tomorrow, in New Zealand.

Vietnam President Nguyen Xuan Phuc will also attend 28th Economic Leaders’ meeting. Since there is a risk of spread of pandemic, the world economic leaders will conduct meetings, virtually.

APEC gives the platform to 21 economies to tackle challenges. Additionally, It will also support the countries in helping each other to become prosperous.

While New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern noted the APEC 2021 as an ‘ambitious exercise’ in digital diplomacy.

The agenda of the meeting includes the APEC region’s response to COVID-19 and the opportunity to build a more resilient future.

APEC is already committed to boosting the cross-border flow of COVID-19 vaccines. Moreover, the rejuvenation of the World Trade Organization is also working under APEC, which will be discussed.
