Ho Chi Minh, 5 November 2021 (TDI): Vietnam President, Nguyen Xuan Phuc will attend the 28th APEC Economic Leaders’ meeting.

The meeting of APEC economies is scheduled to be held on 11 to 12 November 2021 in New Zealand. The world leaders will conduct the meeting virtually.

APEC gives the platform to 21 economies; to tackle challenges. It also supports the member countries in helping each other to prosper.

New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern noted that the APEC 2021 is an ‘ambitious exercise’ in digital diplomacy.

The agenda of the meeting includes the Asia Pacific region’s response to COVID-19 and the opportunity to build a more resilient future.

APEC is already committed to boosting the cross-border flow of COVID-19 vaccines soon. Rejuvenation of the World Trade Organization will also be discussed under the same forum.

Earlier, Vietnam participated in G2O World Leaders Summit and COP26 conference. while, in Glasgow, Vietnam committed to reducing the net greenhouse gas emissions and achieving net-zero emission by 2050.

Moreover, in a visit made by the Vietnamese Prime Minister to Paris, he stressed the implementation of the Viet Nam-EU free trade agreement (EVFTA). The Premier is still in Paris to meet French President Emanuel Macron.
