Moscow, 2 September 2021 (TDI): Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia, Dang Minh Khoi had a meeting with representatives from the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association and the association of Russian former military experts serving in Vietnam from August 31.
Khoi talked about the Vietnamese living in Russia. Many have been granted Russian nationality and Russia has become their second homeland. More than 600,000 Russians visited Vietnam annually before the pandemic. Vietnamese cuisine has also been expanding in Russia.
Khoi also shared that the members of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association worked hard to foster the bilateral friendship of both countries. He hoped that the young people would follow their seniors’ footsteps to help fortify the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership and proposed the two sides establish a forum for people-to-people exchange.
The two countries regularly exchange high-level delegations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has visited Vietnam five times. They also sustain national dialogue through emails, phone talks, and virtual meetings amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Ambassador signified the importance of accelerating people-to-people diplomacy between the two countries for the benefit of the people.
Khoi looks forward to organizing Vietnamese cultural events weekly at public places in Russia.
