Hanoi, 28 September 2021 (TDI): In a ceremony, Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affair received another 2.6 Million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines donated by Germany within 2 weeks. Prior to this Germany delivered COVAX vaccines on 16 September 2021.
During the ceremony, while gifting 3.45 million vaccine doses, and medical equipment and supplies to Veit Nam, To Anh Dung, Deputy Foreign Minister extended his gratitude to the German government for this kind act. It is a demonstration of the unity and cooperation between Germany and Vietnam since their strategic alliance 10 years ago.

Ambassador of Germany to Vietnam, Guido Hildner also addressed the ceremony and mentioned support of Germany to Vietnam’s nation. He said that delivering more doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Vietnam guarantee that Germany stands with the people of Vietnam in their fight against the global pandemic.
Along with the vaccine donations, Germany and Vietnam have collaborated intensively on disease prevention. The Vietnamese government provided Germany with approximately 100,000 masks in early 2020. A total of one million COVID-19 test kits, along with masks, PPEs, and specialized refrigerators, were given to Vietnam as aid by a number of German states in summer 2021.
