Dubai, 28 March 2022 (TDI): The Colombian Vice President, Marta Lucía Ramírez, arrived in the UAE to participate in the annual gathering of the World Government Summit.
The agenda of the visit of the Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Colombia included political participation of women and an increase in foreign investment.
She took part in the “Women in Government Forum”. It is one of the fifteen forums organized under the World Government Summit 2022.
The Vice President participated in a panel discussion titled “The cabinet of 50%: why women should sit in the executive government”. The panelists included women officials from various countries, including Egypt and the UAE.
The panelists discussed the importance of women’s representation in government roles, along with its implications for legislation, the formulation of public policies, and the process of nation-building.
Furthermore, Marta Lucia Ramirez will visit the Colombian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai during her trip. In addition, she will hold a meeting with the Colombian community in the UAE.
Later, on the 29th of March, the Vice President will participate in the Annual Investment Meeting, a debate between global leaders to improve the attraction of foreign investment in promising sectors according to the latest global trends.
World Government Summit

The UAE and Latin American countries have recently stepped up their ties. Many Latin American officials visited Dubai for the World Expo this year.
Two presidents, one prime minister, and 13 ministers from Latin America and the Caribbean Region participated in the fourth edition of Global Business Forum Latin America held in Dubai this year.
