Uzbekistan-China hold business round table discussion

Shanghai, 23 November 2023 (TDI): A round table discussion to confer about business related matters concluded between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Uzbekistan in Shanghai on November 22.

Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov joined the dialogue along with the executives and members from more than 70 firms, regional leadership, officials from government agencies, and financial organizations.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Saidov mentioned the key happenings of the meeting. At the panel discussion, a briefing on growing trends and investment prospects in Uzbekistan was given, and Uzbek authorities engaged in conversations with Chinese business people.

Saidov thanked all Chinese entrepreneurs who expressed a desire to participate in discovering the enormous opportunities for collaboration and building business relationships with Uzbekistan.

In addition, the leadership of GCL Group and Chengdu Metallurgical Experimental Factory Co. met on the sidelines of the Uzbekistan-China Business Roundtable. Foreign Minister Saidov briefed them on the unique business opportunities in Uzbekistan and invited them to explore their potential in his country.

He encouraged the attendees of the gathering and stated that the Uzbek Republic graciously welcomes international investment, particularly those providing cutting-edge technology.

Besides, on November 21, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi hold the First China-Uzbekistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue in Beijing, China, with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov.

The two sides had extensive and comprehensive talks and reached a broad consensus on enacting the significant agreements accomplished by each of the heads of state.

The high-level ministers showed commitment to bolstering the cooperation in the economic sector. In a joint statement, both SCO and BRI partner states announced the creation of a strategic dialogue mechanism between the foreign ministers of the two countries.

Bakhtiyor Saidov also met Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng who briefed him on the city’s dynamic progress and excellent experience with sustainable development.

Among the primary subjects of their discussion were connecting prominent enterprises from both sides, organizing business delegations, developing bilateral tourism, commemorating 30 years of sister city ties between Tashkent and Shanghai next year, and exchanging technology and expertise.
