Uzbek President Called his Kazakh Counterpart

Tashkent, 28 August 2021 (TDI): President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephonic conversation with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev to express condolence and sympathy on the horrible incident of the military warehouse explosion.

The Uzbek President expressed grief for the loss of lives in the incident. He conveyed the message to the Kazakh President that Uzbekistan is willing to provide assistance to victims and their families. Shavkat Mirziyoyev also wished for the speedy recovery of the victims of the incident. With that, both leaders exchanged views on the extraordinary situation of Afghanistan. Also, they vowed to consolidate bilateral cooperation in multisector.

According to Kazakh Defence Minister, a fire followed by series of explosions broke out on Thursday at the warehouse of a military base in the Jambyl region’s Bayzak district due to some unidentified objects.
