Port-au-Prince, 3 September 2021 (TDI):
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Haiti stated on Thursday regarding their inclination to collaborate with the Government of Haiti along with the respective community partners and Haitian diaspora at large.
Along with the response efforts followed by a recent earthquake in Haiti, USAID also aims to collaborate with the Haitian Government and its local community partners. USAID believes that such efforts will help Haiti become more resilient shortly, leading to an inclusive form of economic growth and development. It highly focuses on long-term development, creating job opportunities, improvising the agriculture sector, and providing basic health care and education services for the people of Haiti.
On August 14, an earthquake of 7.2 magnitudes struck southwestern Haiti, following which the USAID immediately deployed a Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) to lead the USA’s response mission and assisted in searching for survivors and providing lifesaving assistance.
