Also, PM Shehbaz Sharif informed the administrator of the damage in Pakistan. It includes several deaths of over 1300 persons, over 33 million displaced people, 4 million acres of crops devastated, 800,000 cattle killed, entire communities and businesses ruined, and infrastructural damages.
Furthermore, he explained that while the government authorities used all accessible resources for evacuation and emergency relief activities, food shortages and recovery would remain key issues.
The Prime Minister emphasized that due to the sheer enormity and severity of the calamity, Islamabad was incapable of tackling the immediate or long-term difficulties by itself.
He stressed the importance of sustained international cooperation, solidarity, and help, and he requested US assistance in rallying the international community.
The Prime Minister stressed that Pakistan aspires to rebuild in a climate-resilient way. Pakistan needs foreign experience, technical help, finance, and dependable environmental funding to attain this goal.
He stated that climate change is humankind’s common issue, emphasizing the importance of joint work in this domain.
