Washington, 15 October 2021 (TDI): The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, met the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia; the Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. Al Saud and Blinken discussed US-Saudi strategic cooperation, on 14 October.
The Secretary Blinken and the Foreign Minister, also discussed their common goal to reach a durable solution to end the conflict in Yemen. Blinken reaffirmed the commitment of the US to assist Saudi Arabia.
Blinken also reaffirmed the US condemnation of Houthi attacks on the Kingdom. Al Saud and Blinken discussed other regional and international issues, such as the respect of human rights; and to make progress towards their protection. Finally, Blinken and Al Saud discussed bilateral issues.
Saudi Arabia and the US established diplomatic relations in 1930.
