Washington DC, 19 July 2022 (TDI): The United States (US) Secretary of State, Antony Blinken met Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska.

He admired the resilience of Ukraine’s Government during the Russian Attack. He further condemned Russian brutality against the Ukrainian people, adding that thorough assistance remains a priority of the US.

During the meeting, Secretary Blinken assured the Ukrainian First Lady that the US stands to support Ukraine in this horrible era. He emphasized that Ukraine will achieve victory and that the US Government will aid Ukraine’s Government in this regard.

Furthermore, while the meeting was in process many concerns were delivered by Olena Zelenska. These concerns included the enormous and rising human costs due to Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Secretary Blinken also criticized the Russian invasion as it led to the killing of innocent people in the region. Russian troops have been destroying the healthcare institutions, educational buildings, and houses of civil individuals making them homeless.

Moreover, he reaffirmed that the US will keep on supporting Ukraine in its efforts to address the severe hurdles. He assured help in the economy and humanitarianism. The First Lady’s request for aid in mental health initiatives was also considered vital.

Russian-Ukrainian War

The relationship between Russia and Ukraine turned turbulent right after the Ukrainian Revolution of Dignity in February 2014. The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine is termed the Russo-Ukrainian War.

Russia invaded the country on the 24th of February. Furthermore, the War was centered on the status of Crimea and Donbas. Crimea and the Donbas both gained recognition by the international community as part of Ukraine.
