Washington, 10 May 2024 (TDI): The Biden administration is close to finalizing the Strategic Alliance Agreement with Saudi Arabia, which would obligate the US to assist in defending the Gulf nation. The agreement would require a two-thirds majority vote in the US Senate.
This treaty is part of a broader agreement aimed at diplomatic relations between Riyadh and Israel.
This potential agreement includes a US-Saudi civil nuclear pact, steps toward establishing a Palestinian state, and efforts to end Israeli aggression in Gaza, where months of ceasefire attempts have yet to achieve peace.
Moreover, reports stated that the United States will get access to Saudi Arabia’s territory and airspace to safeguard the US interests and regional partners.
In addition, both countries agreed on a wider package including the US and Saudi Arabia civil nuclear pact. Moreover, this treaty aims to take a step toward the Palestine State and end the war in Palestine to adopt the ceasefire which was not done in 9 months of the war to bring peace.

According to the reports, this treaty is known as the “Strategic Alliance Agreement” which strengthens the diplomatic and bilateral relations of the USA and Saudi Arabia.
Furthermore, they said, “It requires a two-thirds majority vote in the US Senate, a threshold that would be difficult to achieve unless the treaty was tied to Israeli-Saudi normalization.”
Moreover, “The draft treaty is modeled loosely on Washington’s mutual security pact with Japan.”
Further, it has been reported, “It is also intended to bind Riyadh closer to Washington by prohibiting China from building bases in the kingdom or pursuing security cooperation with Riyadh.”
The White House, the US State Department, and the Saudi embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
