Islamabad: July 07, 2021 – (TDI): The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad and the Karakoram International University (KIU) signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to build a Lincoln Corner in Gilgit. The letter was signed by Ray Castillo, Minister Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, and Professor Dr. Attaullah Shah, Vice-Chancellor of KIU, in a virtual ceremony. Lincoln Corners represent bilateral partnerships between Pakistani institutions and the US Mission to Pakistan. Lincoln Corners, via educational and thematic programs and information sources, provide a pathway of connectivity between the youth of Pakistan and the US. The events of Lincoln Corners are free and open for the public, held both online and in person.
