US, Iran Condemn School Bus Attack in Khuzdar

Islamabad (TDI): The United States and Iran have strongly condemned the suicide attack on a school bus in Balochistan’s district of Khuzdar, which claimed six lives, including three children who were aboard.

Natalie Baker, the Chargé d’ Affaires of the US Embassy in Islamabad said, “We join Pakistan’s leaders in condemning the brutal, unconscionable attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan. The murder of innocent children is beyond comprehension. We grieve with the families who lost loved ones, and our thoughts are with those recovering. No child should ever fear going to school. We stand with those in Pakistan working to end this violence.”

Iranian Ambassador, Reza Amiri Moghadam, also strongly condemned the terrorist attack on his X account.

He wrote, “I strongly condemn the hideous and cowardly terrorist attack against a school bus in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district leading to the martyrdom of some innocent school-going children and several others injured.”

“I express my sincere condolences and sympathy with the government and people of Pakistan especially the families who lost loved ones. May Allah Almighty bestows blessings to the soul of the Martyrs. My deepest prayers for the speedy and safe recovery of the injured,” the Ambassador further said.

On Wednesday, a school bus carrying children was targeted by Indian-sponsored terrorists, in which at least five people were martyred, including three children, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. The number of deaths is now being reported as six.

“In yet another cowardly and ghastly attack planned and orchestrated by terrorist state of India and executed by its proxies in Balochistan, innocent school-going children’s bus was targeted today in Khuzdar,” a statement released by the ISPR read.

The statement further said, “After having miserably failed in the battlefield, through these most heinous and cowardly such like acts, Indian proxies have been unleashed to spread terror and unrest in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”

The army has also vowed to hunt down the “planners, abettors and executors of this cowardly Indian sponsored attack” and bring them to justice, exposing the heinous face of India in front of the entire world.

ISPR further reiterated that the Armed Forces of Pakistan, with the support of the brave Pakistani nation, stand “united to uproot Indian sponsored terrorism from Pakistan in all its manifestations.”

After the attack, the Deputy Commissioner, Yasir Iqbal Dashti, told the reporters that the suicide attack took place when the school bus was close to Khuzdar Zero Point.

The bodies of the martyred and the injured students were taken to the CMH Khuzdar, from where the critically wounded were transferred to medical facilities in Karachi and Quetta.
