Islamabad (TDI): Donald Blome, the U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan, on Tuesday made a farewell call on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
The DPM/FM congratulated Ambassador Blome on successfully completing his tenure in Pakistan and appreciated his role in strengthening Pakistan-US relations, Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a press release.

Dar expressed the government of Pakistan’s resolve to continue positive engagement with the new US administration.
Pakistan is looking forward to work with new administration in the US as the President-elect Donald Trump would soon be in White House as President.
Certain analysts maintain that that uncertainty in diplomatic circles all over the world is persisting as Trump is considered as an unpredictable personality.
A think tank research stated that Donald Trump’s first term (2017–2021) left U.S.-Pakistan relations in a fragile state by cutting $1.3 billion in security aid, accusing Pakistan of harboring militant groups, including the Taliban.

This move strained bilateral ties and disrupted long-standing Military Training Programme between the two countries.
Additionally, Trump’s deepening ties with India through the Quad Alliance is also causing concerns in the region.
