US Embassy remembers Kavaan on World Elephant Day

-

Islamabad, 12 August 2021 (TDI): The US Embassy in Islamabad remembered Kavaan in its tweet on World Elephant Day. It also thanked the Government of Pakistan and Four Paws for facilitating Kavaan’s journey to Cambodia.

Kavaan is a 36-year old Asian male elephant who remained in the Islamabad Zoo from 1985 to November 2020. He was called the world’s loneliest elephant after he lost his partner in 2012. The government of Pakistan decided to relocate the elephant to Cambodia in 2020 after demands from various animal rights organizations.
