Karachi, 16 September 2021 (TDI): On Thursday, the United States Embassy in Islamabad recalled 2016’s International Coastal Clean-up Day, held in Karachi. On the climate-friendly occasion, the U.S. Consulate Karachi staff members and students of the English Access Micro-Scholarship Program partnered to clean up the Clifton beach in 2016 while observing the International Coastal Clean-up Day.
Three days ahead of the International Coastal Clean-up Day, the US embassy in Islamabad reiterated that climate change and world pollution are two of the biggest threats facing coastlines and marine ecosystems all around the world. Recalling the 2016 Clifton beach clean-up, the United States Embassy appreciated the alumni and teachers of the US-funded English Access Micro-Scholarship Program who came together in 2016 to clean up Karachi’s beaches.
