Karachi, 21 September 2021 (TDI): The US Consul General in Karachi Mark Stroh, along with Economic Chief Brian Bedsworth, Economic Advisor Fahd Zaidi, and USAID specialist Sarah Parvez called on Chairman Port Qasim Rear Admiral Syed Hasan Nasir Shah to discuss infrastructure feasibility and business opportunities in the Port Qasim Authority, on Monday.
The US relationship with Pakistan is a stable, long-term, and broad bilateral partnership as both have shared interests, including the advancement of democracy, peace, security, and economic development in Pakistan and the region.
In the meeting, besides discussing infrastructure feasibility and opportunities regarding the Qasim Port, the parties discussed further possible investments in Pakistan. The presence of USAID specialist Sarah Parvez in the meeting marked the organization’s work in the country, which include a 32 million investment in energy systems. This investment has increased Pakistan’s wind and solar capacity by 50%.
Stroh assumed his role as the US Consul General in Karachi, Pakistan, on the 26th of August 2021.
He received an acknowledgment for his accomplishments for his services for the United States-Pakistan bilateral relations, which, he mentioned, are in the good direction.
