Karachi, 18 October 2021 (TDI): The United States (US) Chargé d’affaires, Angella Aggeler, met Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Ali Haider Zaidi. The meeting took place at the Minister’s residence on 16 October. The US Naval Attaché at the US Embassy Islamabad, Captain Dario Calabrese, and Chairman Karachi Port Trust, Nadir Warriach, were also present on the occasion.

US Naval Attaché, Captain Dario Calabrese, and Chairman Karachi Port Trust, Nadir Warriach, were also part of the meeting.

 

Both sides deliberated over maritime cooperation between the United States and Pakistan ports. They also exchanged views on possibilities of joint ventures between the two countries’ in the maritime sector. Mr. Zaidi’s virtual conversation with US Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg, also came under discussion.

 

The Maritime Minister also requested US support for Pakistan in the upcoming International Maritime Organization’s elections.

The two officials pledged to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries; particularly in the maritime sector.
