US Ambassador Meets Naqvi, Condemns Terrorist Incidents

Islamabad (TDI): The US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome on Thurday held a farewell meeting with Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi here.

The US Ambassador condemned the recent terrorist incidents in Pakistan.

On this occasion while, commenting on the recent incidents of terrorism in the country, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that for defeating terrorism global cooperation is essential.

clarifying Pakistan’s policy, the minister said no illegal foreign national would be allowed to stay in Pakistan.

He said the international community must work together to develop a strategy for the complete eradication of terrorism.

US, Pakistan Counterterrorism Cooperation

Cooperation between the two countries in different fields is going on. But these days Pakistan is facing terrorist attacks in Balochistan and KP, especially in bodering areas.

Earlier in December, Minister for interior Mohsin Naqvi met with US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker along with INL country director Line Nelson to discuss bilateral relations and enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.

During the discussion, Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker expressed condolences for the recent martyrdom of police and Rangers personnel in Islamabad.

The meeting covered a range of topics, including strengthening Pakistan-U.S. relations, advancing law enforcement collaboration.

Minister Naqvi highlighted Pakistan’s vision to modernize the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) along the lines of the FBI, with the US agreeing to provide support for this transformation.

It was also agreed that the US would assist in modernizing Pakistan’s National Forensic Agency to meet contemporary challenges.

“Enhancing the capacity of law enforcement agencies and equipping civil armed forces with modern tools are top priorities to counter terrorism and manage emergencies,” Naqvi stated.

Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker had reaffirmed the US support in these efforts and commended Pakistan’s commitment to improving law enforcement.

She also praised the successful organization of a police officers’ passing-out parade, congratulating Minister Naqvi on the achievement.
