United States Congratulates France on National Day

Washington D.C, 14 July 2023 (TDI): The United States extended its felicitations to the people in France on their National Day (also called Bastille Day), on July 14, 2023.

The US Secretary of State, Antony J. Blinken, in a press release, on behalf of the US government, reiterated the close relationship of France with the United States.

Antony J. Blinken said the US has had deep and long-lasting relations with France, its oldest ally. Both states also supported each other during the two World Wars.

The United States and France share various common values, including a commitment to democracy and human rights. Both have also remained in close association with each other in the post-war period, to promote a more prosperous and secure international system.

France’s Commitment to Global Peace:

Moreoever, the United States acknowledged the intensity and depth of both the historic and modern relations with France.

The United States endorsed France’s commitment to human rights and global security in regions across the world, including Africa, the Middle East, and the Indo-Pacific region. It also acknowledged and appreciated France’s support and close cooperation with the US during Ukraine’s war with Russia.

The United States has also appreciated France’s commitments to combatting climate change. It thus commended France on its leadership in the Paris Agreement, in dealing with the climate crisis.

The US reiterated its support and commitment to work with France in the efforts against climate change, and in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic.

The US applauded the efforts and contributions of France in creating a more peaceful and thriving world. Best wishes for a cheerful national day and a successful year ahead were expressed further.
