Beirut, 16 September 2021 (TDI): The United Nations (UN) Special Coordinator in Lebanon, Joanna Wronecka met with the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, for a meeting. The meeting was held to discuss mutual cooperation between Lebanon and the UN.
During the meeting, they emphasized the significance of financial, economic, and electricity reforms in the country. Moreover, they negotiated the necessity of holding parliamentary elections, as a way forward. The need for mutual cooperation between the two for a successful Lebanon was also stressed upon in the meeting. Furthermore, the measures to be adopted for the well-being of the Lebanese citizens also came under discussion.
Another issue that was discussed was the negotiations with International Monetary Fund for a positive impact on the country’s future.
