Geneva, 18 August 2021 (TDI): UNHCR Commissioner for refugees, Filippo Grandi has tweeted that while speaking to his UNHCR colleagues in Afghanistan, he noticed doubt and apprehension accompanied by audacity and willpower.
He further added that he assured them that UNHCR was going to be there in Afghanistan, and it would keep assisting the Afghan public.
It has been almost 40 years that UNHCR has been spending USD billions to support Afghan refugees in Iran, Pakistan, and other parts of the world. The number of refugees from Afghanistan is almost 2.5 million, which are registered with the said organization.
