Lahore, June 25, 2021 (TDI) — Punjab Safe Cities Authority along with United Nations Population Fund Pakistan has developed a Women Safety App. Mrs. Governor Punjab Begum Parveen Sarvar launched the Punjab Police Women Safety App Awareness campaign in collaboration at the PSCA headquarters. Dr. Bakhtior Kadirov of UNFPA Pakistan also attended the ceremony.

The participants were briefed on the functioning of the app for safety and emergency purposes. A five-day course on female emergency response was also held at PACA.

According to Begum Parveen Sarvar, the campaign aims to educate women about their rights and the means to protect them. Maximum support for the program was ensured by UNFPA chief Dr. Bakhtior Kadirov.

The Women Safety App has extended the campaign awareness about the Women Safety App to universities, schools, and colleges. Seminars for this purpose have been organized by the PSCA. The app is available on Google Play.
