UNDP Resident Representative visits Quetta

Islamabad, 2 September 2021 (TDI): The Resident Representative of UNDP Pakistan, Knut Ostby, visited Quetta to meet the Government of Quetta and the team in the Quetta office.

Knut Ostby had a fruitful meeting with the Additional Chief Secretary Development, Hafiz Abdul Basit. The agenda of the meeting was to highlight the ongoing initiatives and discuss the possible efforts to mobilize resources for development purposes in Balochistan and to continue contributing to provisional development priorities.

Knut Ostby also met with Secretary Abdul Rauf Baloch to enhance their partnership with the Social Welfare Department. Social welfare needs and human rights were the main focus under discussion. Moreover, he and Dr. Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Balochistan, signed an LOA to bolster youth empowerment & human development to unlock Balochistan’s potential.
