UN to continue humanitarian assistance for Afghanistan

Kabul, 17 August 2021 (TDI): United Nations in coordination with all of its affiliate offices in Afghanistan has restated that it will continue making efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan.

The fall of the Afghan government and the takeover by the Taliban has created mayhem in the country. The global community has expressed their concerns about the protection of women and children’s rights in Afghanistan under the Taliban government. Meanwhile, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Afghanistan has confirmed that UN officials will stay in Afghanistan and deliver their services to the helpless people in the country. It has been conveyed that the UN officers have been relocated to safer places for the time being. The officials are firm in their commitments and will resume as soon as the order is maintained.
