Mogadishu, 14 September 2021 (TDI): James Swan, the UN Special Representative and Somalia’s International Election Donor met with Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor, the President of State of Galmudug State of Somalia, for conducting a fair and timely election.
The core principles of the meeting focused on political development and key aspects of the meeting emphasized the need for the leaders to work cooperatively to conduct peaceful, fair, and timely elections.
Along with it, the leaders from both ends acknowledged, welcomed, and praised the idea and commitment of keeping a 30% quota for women in the upcoming election. The chief purpose of the meeting was to ensure timely, secure, and peaceful elections and assurance of proper women suffrage.
