New York City, 8 September 2022 (TDI): United Nations (UN) for Peace, Dignity, and Health declared that there is no nation that has gender equality. It further claimed that the time it might take for women and girls to receive the same rights and security as males, at this rate of development, is another 286 years.
This was shared in a tweet by the official Twitter account of the United Nations for peace, dignity, and health.
Ningún país ha logrado la igualdad de género.
A este ritmo de progreso, podrían pasar otros 286 años para que las mujeres y las niñas tengan los mismos derechos y protecciones que los hombres.

According to the most recent Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5 data, gender equality will not be achieved around the globe by 2030.
Moreover, the prospects for gender equality are being further dimmed by COVID-19 and the pushback against women’s rights and sexual and reproductive health. Also, global health, weather, and humanitarian emergencies have further raised the issues.
These issues include the danger of violence notably for the most vulnerable women, violence against women is still prevalent and women now feel more unsafe than they did prior to the pandemic.
Adding to that, women continue to be underrepresented in positions of authority and decision-making. Currently, only 48% of the data needed to monitor SDG 5 development is available, effectively making women and girls invisible.
Furthermore, the SDGs 2030 end date is rapidly approaching, hence it is imperative that investments in women and girls be made.
Progress on the Sustainable Development Goals SDG 5:
The most recent data discovered that gender equality for each of the goals defined showed that it is emphasizing how far the world still has to improve the status of women.
Additionally, it highlights the connections between the objectives, the crucial role gender equality plays in advancing the SDGs, and the importance of women and girls in setting the course for success.
It is predicted that gender equality will take an additional 286 years to modify legal structures to promote, enforce, and evaluate itself in community affairs at the current pace of change.
Besides this, it claimed that more than 1 in 10 (12.5%) women and girls between the ages of 15 and 49 have experienced physical or sexual abuse at the hands of a romantic partner in the previous year.
Also, it is expected that by 2030, improvement might be made 17 times more quickly than it was in the previous decade.
