UN celebrates World Heart Day

-

New York, 29 September 2021 (TDI): UN shared a tweet to celebrate World Heart Day. In that tweet, the UN has shared a few points regarding the risk of cardiovascular disease. There are some ways by which you can reduce the risk of heart disease and that are having a healthier diet, doing exercise regularly, avoiding smoking, and avoiding harmful alcohol consumption.

Cardiovascular disease is one of the leading causes of death all over the world. Around 17.9 million people died from this disease globally in 2019 and over three-quarters of deaths take place in developing and low to middle-income countries.

CVDs can be cured by addressing behavioral risk factors like tobacco use, unhygienic diet and obesity, lack of physical activity, and alcohol use and it is necessary to detect as early as possible to take proper action to prevent this.

There are no symptoms of CVD but a heart attack might be the first sign of the underlying disease of the blood vessels. Heart attack can be detected by the pain or discomfort in the center of the chest and pain or discomfort in the arm, the left shoulder, elbow, jaw, or back.

WHO is working to increase the normal guidance available for the management of CVD, which is going to help in providing guidance in these important areas.
