Kyiv, 4 September 2023 (TDI): The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephonic conversation with the French President, Emmanuel Macron on September 3.
The two counterparts discussed the cooperation between the two countries regarding the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
The Ukrainian President apprised his French counterpart of the situation on the frontline, particularly in the Kupyansk, Eastern, and Southern directions.
He also mentioned the information regarding the requirement of defense support for the Ukrainian army for the further de-occupation of the territory of Ukraine.
Moreover, he thanked the French side for its defense support and consistent expansion of the capabilities of the Ukrainian army.
“I always appreciate the clear position of France on the timing and scope of defense support. I also appreciate your constant efforts to intensify the support of our partners,” the Ukrainian President stated to French President, Emmanuel Macron.
Likewise, both sides also agreed on the participation of France and private French companies in the Defense Industries Forum that is to be held in Ukraine this fall.
Both Presidents agreed on the importance of extending the Ukraine Grain Corridor, followed by admitting to deepen cooperation in protecting the sea routes for trade as well.
Besides that, the Ukrainian President emphasized the urgent need to strengthen the security of the Odesa region.

Following that, the Ukrainian President stressed the importance of the G7 Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine.
In this regard, both Presidents decided to start bilateral negotiations between Ukraine and France and to give appropriate instructions to the teams.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also expressed his gratitude to the French President for his leadership in the implementation of the Peace Formula in the area of radiation and nuclear security.
In addition to that, both sides discussed the modes of holding the Global Peace Summit, aiming at the widest possible range of participants, including the countries of the Global South.
