El Arish, 14 October 2023 (TDI): The Turkish military plane carrying humanitarian aid for Palestinians in Gaza landed at El Arish Airport, Egypt on October 13.

The Turkish Red Crescent in cooperation with the Egyptian Red Crescent loaded the aid supplies onto trucks at the El Arish Airport.

The Turkish Red Crescent teams, who are also working on the shipment operations in Egypt, will pass the aid materials through the Rafah border gate.

They will work in cooperation with Turkiye’s aid organizations, the Egyptian Red Crescent, and the Palestinian Red Crescent to distribute them to Gazan civilians.

The Turkish aid materials to provide to the people of Gaza landed in Eqypt with the support and cooperation of the Turkish Red Crescent, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, and the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD).

The other aid materials prepared for the needs of Gazan civilians will continue to be loaded onto planes and shipped for the people of Gaza.

Announcement of Turkish aid

The Turkish Red Crescent on October 12, announced Turkiye’s readiness to deliver humanitarian aid materials to Palestine in cooperation with the Palestinian Red Crescent and Egyptian Red Crescent after ensuring a safe environment.

The Turkish Red Crescent also set forth that the obstructions by Israel against the Palestinian Gaza Strip prevented direct delivery of aid supplies to the region from Turkiye.

The Turkish Red Crescent even before the shipment of a new plane carrying humanitarian aid from Turkiye to Egypt continued its aid in Gaza with its local personnel.

The Turkish Red Crescent in the north of Gaza had also been delivering food supplies, medicine, hygiene materials for children and women to families affected by attacks, and medical supplies to hospitals.

The Turkish Red Crescent team in Gaza also informed that their team had also been cooking and distributing hot meals for those in need in Gaza for years.

But their soup kitchen had been destroyed by the Israeli strikes that obstructed the food supply to Gazans.

President Erdoğan on Turkish aid for Gaza

The President of Turkiye, Tayyip Erdoğan also spoke on the recent supply of Turkish aid to Gaza via Egypt at the Closing Ceremony of the 4th Turkiye-Africa Business and Economic Forum at Istanbul Congress Center on October 13.

President Erdoğan stressed that the Israeli administration should allow the passage of humanitarian aid through the Rafah border crossing to the Palestinians.

President Erdoğan delineated, “We sent a humanitarian aid plane to El Arish Airport this morning, which contains medicine, durable food, canned goods, diapers, and medical supplies.

Our plane, which has been carrying first aid cargo to the region since the conflict started, has landed at the airport at noon today.”

President Erdoğan added: “We will continue to send humanitarian aid to Gaza in close cooperation with the brotherly Egyptian authorities.

At a time when millions of people face hunger, cutting off the humanitarian aid to the Palestinians has been inscribed as a new disgrace in the faces of those who have taken this decision.”

President Erdoğan also condemned the plans of the US and England to dispatch aircraft carriers to Israel amidst the suffering of the people of Palestine.

He emphasized in his speech, “We say it openly that we never have and never will approve of such attacks as the bombing of mosques, hospitals, and civilian settlements.

It is evident that the blockade, which worsens the humanitarian situation in Gaza, renders the region open and susceptible to provocations.

President Erdoğan perpetually focused in his speech that punishing the Gazan people collectively would cause more suffering.
