Islamabad (TDI): Ambassador of Ethiopia to Pakistan, Dr Jemal Beker Abdula, met with Türkiye’s new Ambassador to the country Dr Irfan Neziroglu on Tuesday. During the meeting, held in Islamabad, the Türkish envoy praised Ethiopia’s efforts to reintegrate former combatants and promised full support.

Dr Jemal shared Ethiopia’s success in uniting the nation, leading to a program for 75,000 former combatants. He said in the first step, the government plans to reintegrate over 371,000 people from seven regions in two years.
The Ethiopian Ambassador spoke about the Pretoria Peace Agreement. He said it showed Ethiopia’s commitment to solving African problems with African solutions. He highlighted Ethiopia’s role in peace, security, and fighting terrorism in the region.

Dr Jemal also explained Ethiopia’s Macroeconomic Reform Agenda 2.0. He said it aims to grow the economy and increase global competitiveness. He noted results like higher trade, foreign investment, and stability. He also spoke about Ethiopia’s achievements at COP 29.
Ambassador Neziroglu praised Ethiopia’s progress in peace, reintegration, and economic reforms. He said Ethiopia’s work on climate change sets a great example for other nations. He promised Türkiye’s continued support through close cooperation and mutual respect.
