Kampala, 26 September 2021 (TDI): The representatives of Turkey in Uganda met with the newly appointed Foreign Minister of Uganda.
The Turkish envoys congratulated Jeje Odongo, the newly nominated Foreign Minister of Uganda. In the meeting, they also agreed to strengthen their bilateral relations.
There was also a discussion of expanding their relations in the field of security cooperation. There was also an agreement on enhancing diplomatic relations by the high-level visits of both states.
The two countries established embassies in 2010. Since then both states have tried to expand their relations with each other.
The visit of Recep Tayyib Erdogan, the President of the Republic of Turkey to Uganda in 2016 was the first-ever Turkish President’s visit to Uganda.
