The first ever gathering of alumni of Turkish universities was organized by newly established office of “Turkey Alumni in Pakistan (TULIP)” at Islamabad.

Islamabad, 13 November  2021 (TDI): The newly founded office of “Turkey Alumni in Pakistan (TULIP)” hosted the first ever gathering of Turkish university alumni at the Islamabad Club, with the goal of connecting Turkish university alumni.

A large number of alumni, including Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, Head of the Mission Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Dilsad Senol, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Deputy Coordinator Mehmet Selcuk Karagoz, MD Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Mr. Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar, Air Vice Marshal Asad Ikram, Assistant Commissioner Islamabad Aneel Saeed, President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce Muhammad Shakeel, representative of Pak Türk Maarif School and Collages Buğra Ozler and dignitaries of different educational and charity organizations attended the event.

The meetup was planned to assist Turkish university alumni in staying in touch with one another, sharing information and experiences, and providing possibilities for professional development, networking, and friendship building.

Ambassador of Turkey to Pakistan Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul pledged his support to Turkey Alumni in Pakistan (TULIP) in its efforts to enhance Pakistan-Turkey relations in a variety of disciplines during his speech.

“This alumni association can play a significant role in further improving the relations between two brotherly countries,” stated Mr. Saif ul Islam Khan, President of the TULIP. Alumni of Turkish colleges are an asset to Pakistan, and they are eager to contribute to the country’s progress”, he added.

On the occasion of the 144th birth anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Pakistan’s national poet, was also honoured throughout the program.

At the conclusion of the program, Ambassador of Turkey to Pakistan Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul presented cultural shawls to heads of Pakistani and Turkish organisations on behalf of the TULIP.

Recently, Mayor Tunç Soyer of Izmir inaugurated the ‘Pakistan Boulevard’. These warm gestures will promote people-to-people interactions and boost cultural collaboration between Pakistan and Turkey.

Pakistan and Turkey enjoy deep-rooted relations especially strong people to people ties. These relations gain their strength from the historical past and congeniality of trust and interest in major international and regional issues. Pakistan and Turkey share 75 years of friendship.

Several high level Strategic Cooperation Council meetings have been held between both sides especially the latest one in February last year in 2020, under the chairmanship of President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Imran Khan. Under this mechanism, nearly 73 agreements and documents have been signed so far.
