ISLAMABAD (TDI): Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi Province in Northwestern China, seen significant rise in bilateral relations between Pakistan and China.
Xi’an in the near past organized the China (Shaanxi)-Pakistan Economic and Trade Cooperation Fair, coinciding with the Silk Road International Exposition.
Xi’an Sees Major Rise in Pak-China Collaboration
This event marks a new chapter in the partnership between Pakistan and China, featuring around 40 Pakistani companies, including key players from the oil and gas sectors.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, highlighted the importance of the fair, noting it was the first major sector-specific conference of this kind in Shaanxi Province.
With the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) entering its second phase, the focus has shifted towards business-to-business (B2B) cooperation.
Ambassador Hashmi outlined 13 priority sectors for investment, including energy, mining, textiles, and IT.
Trade between Shaanxi Province and Pakistan has surged this year, nearly doubling from January to August.
The province’s strength in photovoltaic technology is evident, with a local solar energy company capturing up to 40% of the market share in Pakistan.

As the guest country of honor at the Silk Road International Exposition, Pakistan showcased a large national pavilion, promoting its culture, products, and investment opportunities, especially in the energy sector.
This event provided a vital platform for business networking, joint ventures, and trade promotion, underscoring the deepening economic ties between the two nations.
