Three Terrorists Killed in Bannu IBO: ISPR

RAWALPINDI, (TDI): Security forces killed three terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Friday.

According to a statement from the Pakistan Army’s media wing, ISPR, the operation took place in the early hours of Friday, following intelligence reports regarding the presence of terrorists, referred to as “khwarij,” by the government.

“Security forces successfully engaged the khwarij position, resulting in the deaths of three terrorists and injuries to two others,” the statement read.

The operation also led to the recovery of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the killed terrorists, who had been involved in multiple attacks on security forces and the targeted killings of civilians.

“Security forces are conducting a sanitization operation to ensure the elimination of any remaining terrorists in the area, as Pakistan’s military is fully committed to eradicating terrorism,” ISPR stated.

This operation follows a recent attack on a military outpost in Bannu, where terrorists carried out a gun and suicide attack that left 12 troops martyred.

ISPR further stated that during the attack on a combined security checkpoint of the Pakistan Army and FC in the Mali Khel area, security forces killed six assailants and successfully thwarted their attempt to infiltrate the post.

However, ISPR said that security forces had killed three terrorists after getting info from intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Bannu district.
