Porbandar (TDI): Three crew members, including two pilots, were killed as an Indian Coast Guard helicopter crashed during a training exercise at the Porbandar Airport in Gujarat, India on Sunday.
Indian media confirmed the casualties, reporting that Coast Guard officials have started an investigation into the cause of the crash.

A search and rescue team quickly found the wreckage and recovered the bodies of the three victims. Two other individuals were injured in the accident.
According to a Coast Guard spokesperson, early findings suggest the crash may have been caused by a technical fault. However, a detailed investigation is still ongoing. The spokesperson did not share specific details about the injuries of the two survivors.

In a similar crash in 2021, 13 Indian Army officers, including India’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat, were killed in Tamil Nadu.
A report shared in the parliament last month revealed that the deadly Mi-17 crash was caused by “human error.”
