There are several primary vocational education institutions in Tajikistan, which train specialists in different areas, including engineering and technology, transport, energy, architecture and construction, agriculture, etc. There are also many secondary vocational education institutions that train specialists in multi areas, including teaching, medicine, culture, agriculture, economics, technology, engineering, and human rights.
The science and education are undoubtedly one of the main factors of development, and the country’s scientists and institutions play a role as a great intellectual resource of society for the advancement and improvement of social conditions. State independence created favorable conditions for scientific research, the revival of the cultural heritage and history of the Tajiks to be more and better presented. This is how modern Tajikistan, with its creative initiatives, gained more and better fame among the countries of the world as a civilization-building and culture-building nation, a creator and a science-lover, and a city-builder and urban-dweller. The educationists, scientists and institutions, along with their chairpersons, staffs, teachers and students, play a role in the presentation of Tajikistan and the progress of science, education, and society.
At all times, education has been at the forefront, and today the attention of the government of the country is focused on this direction. With the full support and efforts of the Founder of Peace and National Unity and Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, the field of education and vocational education is developing year by year. The leader of the nation considers education as the bright lighting star of the any nation as he said: “The youth is the main driving force of the state and the nation, and their proper education is both a debt and an obligation for teachers.”

The International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan is one the bright navigator source inventor of knowledge of the country. The university established in 1991 during the era of the independence day of Tajikistan playing key role in training highly qualified personnel essential for the development of the national economy. Since its foundation, the university has been dynamically evolving, expanding its structure, and striving as one of the leading educational centers in the region. Professor Ubaidullo Asrorzoda is the Rector of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan since 2020.

On August 30, the President visited the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan on celebration the Day of Knowledge and the Lesson of Peace of the country. He said in his speech that all the progress and achievements including in the field of education, the decent and peaceful life of the people depends on the maintenance of peace, tranquility, and political stability of the country. The President considered peace to be the head of the people, the happiness and well-being of every family, and the basis for the progress of the state and nation, including the development of the education sector.
He called the proposal on the “Decade of Strengthening Peace for the Sake of Future Generations” a logical continuation of the country’s peace-loving efforts in the international arena. The President noted that “the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, as the first higher professional education institution with international status in the country, with the support and constant attention of the Government, has in recent years become a leading center for training competitive specialists under a multi-level education system. It was approved on November 25, 2025, ongoing measures are envisaged to ensure the effective operation of the Skills Development Center, improve the university’s digital management system, establishment of Tourism Academy on the basis of the Institute of Tourism.
Consequently the university in the charter of the “open door” policy of the country has cooperation with different countries, engaging in international projects and collaborates with leading foreign scientific and educational institutions. The International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan signed cooperation agreements with more than 160 organizations and scientific and educational institutions, including student and faculty exchanges, joint scientific research, and participation in international educational projects.
