Al Ain, 10 September 2024 (TDI): Tajik schoolchildren have emerged as champions at the Asian Boxing Championship held in the United Arab Emirates, showcasing remarkable talent and securing medals across various categories.
The Tajik national team put on an impressive performance at the youth boxing tournament in Al Ain, UAE, winning several medals.
This was confirmed by the Boxing Federation of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Anushervon Sidikov, competing in the 33 kg weight category, was crowned Asian champion among schoolchildren, while Akbar Abdulloev also clinched gold in the 58 kg category.
In addition, Firuz Boymatov (37 kg) won a silver medal, and Dilshod Sidjaev (35 kg) took home the bronze.
Among the young men, Bilol Iksanov (54 kg) secured the championship title.
The Tajik national team added four more bronze medals in this age group, courtesy of Umar Asrorov (63 kg), Abubakr Azizov (57 kg), Amirbek Mahramov (52 kg), and Sorbon Nuralizoda (66 kg).

Tajik boxer Farinoz Abdulloeva emerged victorious in the 54 kg weight category, while Mino Azimzoda secured a bronze in the 60 kg division.
Anushervon Sidikov was recognized as the best athlete in the schoolchildren category.
Rewards
As per the rules of the Asian Championship, the winners of the youth competitions will receive a reward of $6,000, while silver and bronze medalists will receive $3,000 and $1,500, respectively.
In the schoolchildren category, the top performers will be awarded $4,000, $2,000, and $1,000.
In total, the Tajik national team comprised 14 schoolchildren and 13 juniors.
Additionally, Tajik judge Akmal Abdulloev was among the officials at the competition.
