Synopsis:
The Conference of Parties, known as COP. It is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The 26th session of COP takes place in Glasgow.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of developing bilateral cooperation. They discussed cooperation in the political, economic, and humanitarian spheres. Moreover, they agreed on joint efforts to prevent the consequences of climate change and the COVID-19. The sides also discussed matters of partnership within the framework of international organizations and other issues of mutual interest.
26th UN Climate Change Conference
COP26 is the first opportunity for Central Asia to present itself as the single region at this global weighty forum. Moreover, it is a unique opportunity for Central Asia to demonstrate the unity of opinions on understanding and developing approaches to address climate change issues.
In future, this will adopt the economies of Central Asia and make them sustainable.
The participants of the session unanimously agreed that it is necessary to make considerable changes in institutional, political, financial, and monitoring systems. This will enhance coordination of policy and profitability
