Syrian FM to Visit Qatar, UAE , Jordan This Week

DAMASCUS, (TDI): Syrian FM-Foreign Minister- Asaad Al-Shaibani announced plans to visit Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Jordan this week, following his inaugural trip to Saudi Arabia as part of the new government’s diplomatic outreach.

Speaking to Pakistan’s state-run television, PTV, Al-Shaibani emphasised the importance of these visits in fostering stability, security, economic recovery, and strategic partnerships for Syria.

Earlier this week, Al-Shaibani led a high-level delegation to Riyadh, accompanied by the new government’s defense minister and intelligence chief.

First International Engagement

This marked the first foreign visit by Syria’s newly established leadership since President Bashar Al-Assad was ousted last month.

The new administration is actively seeking investment from Gulf nations to rebuild Syria’s war-torn infrastructure and revitalize its economy after more than a decade of conflict.

In an interview, Syria’s new leader, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, highlighted Saudi Arabia’s significant role in Syria’s future. “Saudi Arabia holds key investment opportunities in Syria,” he stated, underscoring the Kingdom’s potential to contribute to the country’s reconstruction and economic growth.
