Geneva (TDI): Tajikistan is set to expand its international tourism outreach with support from Swiss partners, following a high-level meeting in Geneva aimed at showcasing the country’s attractions to a global audience.
Deputy Chairman of the Tajik Tourism Development Committee Ziyodullo Salimzoda and Tajik Ambassador to Switzerland Sharaf Sheralizoda met with Geneva Tourism Office Director General Adrien Genier, along with senior executives from Swiss travel companies Trade Wings Voyages and Executive Travel.
Talks centered on raising Tajikistan’s profile abroad through joint initiatives such as presentations of Tajik travel routes in Switzerland, targeted advertising campaigns, and participation in major international tourism fairs.
Both sides underscored the sector’s potential as a driver of economic development, highlighting opportunities to attract foreign investment into hotel infrastructure, modern services, and job creation.

“Tajikistan stands out for its untouched landscapes, warm hospitality, and the world-famous Pamir Highway, one of the most spectacular high-altitude roads on the planet,” Swiss travel media outlet Primus Publishing reported.
Officials voiced optimism that partnerships with Swiss organizations would help boost visitor numbers while strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

Trade Wings Voyages, a well-established Swiss agency known for premium leisure and business travel, and Executive Travel, a Geneva-based firm specializing in tailor-made itineraries, expressed readiness to add Tajikistan to their programs and promote it across Europe.
The parties agreed to pursue longer-term cooperation, including cultural exchanges and joint promotional efforts, signaling a shift from fragmented marketing campaigns to a coordinated strategy to position Tajikistan as a distinctive and attractive destination for global travelers.
