Mogadishu, 16 September 2021 (TDI): The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble, engaged in a video conference with the Swedish Minister for Development, Per Olsson. The conference mainly focused on the ongoing tensions in Somalia.
Following the current elections in Somalia and conflicts within the state, the Swedish Minister for Development showed concerns for the Federal Republic of Somalia and guaranteed Swedish support towards the Somali government and its people.
The meeting that was also attended by the Swedish ambassador to Somalia further discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations between Sweden and Somalia. Along with it, emphasis on the timely and peaceful election and the resolution of electoral issues in Somalia was also discussed.
Furthermore, casting support for the Somali government, the Swedish Minister for Development asked for peaceful conflict resolution. Also, the focus on the upcoming Somali election was set as a priority.
