Murtaza Syed, Acting Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, unveiled the design of the banknote at a celebrations ceremony in the SBP Museum. In a tweet, the State Bank shared that the note will be available for public issuance from 30th September 2022.
The banknote is printed in white and green colours. Moreover, it has portraits of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, and Fatima Jinnah. The portraits reflect and acknowledge the contribution of the leaders in the Pakistan movement.
Furthermore, on the back side, the note has pictures of the Markhor and Deodar, the National Animal and tree of Pakistan. Their images highlight Pakistan’s focus on achieving a sustainable environment and protecting flora and fauna.
The Rs. 75 note is the second commemorative note that the State Bank of Pakistan has issued. Previously, in 1997, the bank issued a 5 Rupee note to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Pakistan’s Independence. It was purple in color and had a portrait of Quaid-e-Azam on it.
