Cadiz, 24 August 2021- (TDI): The government of Spain and the USA signed a Memorandum of Understanding. This MoU comes under the framework of the Defense Cooperation agreement between Spain and the United States.
This memorandum of understanding is made to receive the Afghan staff and people belonging to different nationals evacuated from Kabul on the bases of Rota and Moron. The United States is working with the Government of Spain to facilitate the transit of people leaving Afghanistan through US facilities at the Spanish military base.
The PM of Spain Pedro Sanchez and Joe Biden both agreed to use the military bases of Roto and Moron to host the Afghan refugee and Spain is working closely to evacuate people of Afghan and other nationalities from there in light of the current Afghan situation.
