Dubai, 13 June 2023 (TDI): Deputy Minister Candith Mashego-Dlamini from South Africa participated in a very fruitful gathering with the respected team at the Embassy in Abu Dhabi. This served to further enhance the enduring and friendly bond between South Africa and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
South Africa’s diplomatic representation in the UAE is led by Cachalia, at the Embassy in Abu Dhabi. Additionally, A. T. Lebona efficiently represents South Africa at the Consulate General in Dubai.
Deputy Minister Mashego-Dlamini engaged with businesses from the UAE and South Africa at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce on June 12, 2023. This meeting presents a significant occasion to boost trade and investment between the two countries, highlighting the vast possibilities for cooperation and development.

Mashego-Dlamini expresses that South Africa and the United Arab Emirates have a warm bilateral relationship that has been strengthened through various high-level visits.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1994, the economic ties between the two countries have been progressing positively, with a primary focus on economic and commercial growth.
To underscore the importance and robustness of this bilateral relationship, they have a structured mechanism called the South Africa-UAE Joint Commission Corporation, which was established in 2011 and has already held two meetings.
Today, on June 13, 2023, the third meeting of the South Africa-UAE Joint Commission Corporation (JCC) took place in Abu Dhabi. During this session, Deputy Minister Candith Mashego-Dlamini of DIRCO held discussions with Sheik Shakhboot Al Nahyan, the Minister of State of Foreign Affairs, in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The meeting between both leaders signifies a positive step towards enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries. It encourages closer cooperation and strengthens ties between South Africa and the UAE.
