Belgrade, 20 September 2021 (TDI): Mr. Mohammad Abdullahi Ahmed who is the Charge d’Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Somalia to Serbia gave his credentials to the Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Nikola Selakovic.
Nikola Selakovic talked about the bilateral relations between Somalia and Serbia. Not only this, but he talked about the friendship and historical connection between the two countries. He also appreciated the Somali diplomatic efforts in the Somali embassy in Belgrade.
Furthermore, he expressed that he would like to facilitate the procedures of the new Charge d’Affairs during his ministry. He also expressed that he would also like to facilitate other ministries and institutions. On the other hand, the Serbian Foreign Minister expressed that he would like the two countries to establish a strong trade and economic relationship with Somalia. He expressed his readiness to work on this relationship between the two.
Mr. Mohammad Abdullahi was glad at representing Somalia in Serbia. He highlighted that the Somali-Serbian relations must be strengthened in various fields that can be beneficial for both countries in the future.
Somalia has established its embassy in Belgrade as this was a step they thought would develop close relations between the two countries and it did contribute to bringing both countries together.
