Mogadishu, 21 September 2021(TDI): The Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Osman Abokar Dubbe, met with the new Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, Fei Shengchao, at the Mogadishu Embassy on Monday.
The main topic of discussion was how to enhance cooperation and ties between China and Somalia. Minister Osman Abokar Dubbe and Ambassador Fei Shengchao discussed ways to increase media exchanges and collaboration between China and Somalia, as well as ways to improve the role of the media in mutual understanding.
Somali Minister showed gratitude and stated that the Chinese Government completed major projects in Somalia, including a 900-kilometer road connecting Beledweyne in central Somalia with Burco in northwest Somalia, as well as the National Stadium, theater, and Benadir hospital.
Moreover, Osman Abokar Dubbe stated that China and Somalia have stronger ties, sharing culture, trade, and people-to-people connections.
The Chinese Ambassador, Fei Shengchao, also expressed his delight at having such a great talk with the Somali Minister of Information and his staff and emphasized that he would do all possible to promote the two countries’ historic and friendly relations.
